Summer!

We've had a great and busy summer, but this newsletter will serve as a summary before the Fall article comes out shortly! After a rocky start to the flying season due to mostly poor-weather weekends, the weather has finally opened up and we've been having a blast! We said goodbye to Tim V's Fairchild KR-21. It is off to the Caldwell Collection at Mustang Field in Oklahoma as part of Tony's fantastic classic aircraft collection. The KR flew from here straight to OSH for the airshow and took home a Preservation Award. That's a huge accomplishment and deserves a thanks to all that helped bring the KR-21 back to flying status including Tim V, Harland A, Harley A, Tony O, and everyone else we're forgetting!

Big news is that the new kid on the block is a 1946 Fairchild 24W-46 that came as a swap from the Caldwell Collection. Nothing greater than two flying museums working together to preserve history! We've been having fun flying the new Fairchild and it will get an oil change and a new tailwheel tire before it heads to the Fairchild 100th Anniversary Celebration in Maryland in early September.

Come and join us for our remaining Summer Events, including our Annual 9 and Dine Golf Tournament. Lots and lots (and lots!) of raffle prizes along with a great dinner and some golf. Or just dinner if you prefer to stay off the links! See you all there!
