Winter

It was a great 2025 season! We want to thank each and every one of you for supporting our mission of PRESERVATION RESTORATION OPERATION EDUCATION! 

With the cold season upon us, Hangar 3 is tucked in for the winter. Winter maintenance of aircraft has begun, some aircraft have "gone south" for the season, and others wait for warmer weather to arrive. Hangar maintenance this winter includes some heating and air movement updates. We have a new 20' overhead fan to install that should help both heating and cooling, and our next big upgrade is to add another gas heater to evenly distribute heat throughout the hangar. 

We are also busy with some smaller museum projects that should be ready for the season opener. If you'd like to volunteer, please reach out to us! 

The Barnes-Westfield Airport is a great place to be, and the support of all the local pilots, businesses, education groups, and employees are what makes it so special. We are proud to be a part of this community, and we look forward to the 2026 season! See you there!
